Aftercare tips for your newly laid lawn.
One of the most important factors of keeping your lawn looking great is keeping it watered after its been laid, if its been laid in warmer months, (March to September) or dry conditions, water the turf daily, early mornings and evenings are best and keep watering daily for at least 10-14 days or until the roots are established with the soil below.
It is recommended to apply a balanced fertiliser containing similar levels of Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K), every 4-6 weeks during the growing season, Follow the manufacturers recommendations on the packaging for quantity, timing and method of application.
DO NOT cut your new lawn until the turf has rooted properly. The first time you mow the lawn set your mower on highest setting to avoid “stressing” the grass. The actual height of your grass is a matter of personal preference. However, if most domestic lawns are mown shorter than 25mm it will weaken the turf and be more exposed to weed growth.
